CruiseReview.net.au talks about the Royal Caribbean Experience.

After many years of cruising on Carnival Corp brands, I decided to try Royal Caribbean International (RCI). Many of my friends have cruised RCI and I have received many reports over the years (both positive and negative) and decided I wanted to experience RCI for myself. I have started with a three day cruise on the Legend of the Seas.

So, below is a brief pictorial post (more to come) on my experience and I will post some more pictures and information over the coming days.

The Ship – Legend of the Seas

The ship is 264m long and 69,475 tonnage, carrying capacity of 2,076 passengers and constructed in 1994. It’s a modern looking ship with a feel of somewhere between Carnival and Princess cruise ships. Notably, when the ship was constructed, it is said to have been the longest cruise ship on the market at that time (unconfirmed).

The ships layout was good with most activities on decks 4 and 5 (restaurant, bars and show lounges) and deck 9 (pool deck).

Initial Opinions

RCI do provide a different experience to other cruise lines and do some things uniquely different (I will post more on this soon). Whilst similar, the ships do operate differently and this should be expected when coming aboard. They do have some really good and well thought out features, such as planning meal times and show times to match.

I did find the overall experience good and we did not have any problems during the cruise.
