Who has been to Hobbiton from a cruise?
We went a couple of years ago, and it really was an exciting and surreal experience. Not sure if I should admit this, but I have never seen any of the movies! BUT I had a fantastic time. They really have done a good job with the whole experience.
Travelling on a bus, the tour guide gives you so much to think about. You can sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, or take in all the extra bits of information. The walk around is amazing, and all along the tour guide tells you things you would never know. What is even more amazing, is that it is also a current working farm!
Do yourself a favour and go to Hobbiton if you cruise to New Zealand. We organised ourselves a private tour (a friend of a friend) and this was in the port of Tauranga.
