If you travelled on a P&O Australia Cruise, you may have noticed the Mix Academy classes. These are a speciality of P&O, not found on other cruise lines.

What is it?

This is a class that allows the (usually very funning) bar tender to show you how to mix up some of the P&O Mix Bar favourites. It goes for about one (1) hour long and you will make four drinks in that time (and yes, you can drink them).

Why do it

It’s a great way to learn how to make the cocktails, meet people and have fun. It’s great value for money and you get to enjoy the cocktails throughout the class.

What Happens?

There will be tables set up with the appropriate glasses, utensils, cocktail shakers, ice and mixers. You will be given an apron to wear for the class because if you are not careful it can get messy. One bar tender will go through and help you make all the cocktails. You can adjust for any allergies and sweetness etc. For things like syrups, cream, juices etc you can be heavy handed or light handed, but the alcohol is controlled by the bar tender. Take you camera for lots of photos. At the end you hand in your apron and take the cocktails with you (if you have any left). You will also be given the recipes so you can recreate them at home.

Who Should do this

Anyone over 18 who enjoys drinking cocktails. It is very good value for money at only $25-.

Warning You will end up drinking four drinks in the hour – it may make you a little tipsy.
